The AWAIH Framework

Capturing Heaven’s blueprint for your business

From two decades plus of wrestling with this very journey ourselves, we've captured the process to build a company that better reflects His Kingdom in a framework we use to help you implement these concepts in your own workplace. This is not another consulting program - our implementation is born from the ongoing, real world experiences of authentic entrepreneurs and seasoned executives who've had to live with the results of these practices. (We're actively eating our own cooking!) Likewise, this is not about formulas or cookie-cutter approaches. It will look different in your business than it looks in ours, because God has different plans for your business than ours.

Excerpt from At Work As In Heaven the book

Kingdom vs. kingdom

In a business context, a capital K Kingdom business is one which strives to provide its customers, stakeholders, employees and community with an ever-increasing experience of God’s Kingdom. That will encompass both natural and supernatural behaviors. (It’s not the Kingdom without God’s presence!).

A little k kingdom business may have compelling social objectives or achievements, but without active pursuit of God’s presence, is ultimately just a business.

What Makes KBOS Different?

Most approaches are "business first."

It turns out the best-in-class business tools and “best practices” most Christian business leaders recognize and use  - the ones we use too - are just business. There’s no Kingdom.  In other words, they optimize things to work the best they can in the little k kingdom.

As a result, many "Christian" business organizations, peer groups, and coaches are also "business first." They use these business tools, strategies, and practices to optimize business, while "adding on" or "stay within" biblical principles. That's better than ignoring them altogether, of course, but it's still "business first.”

AWAIH is instead Kingdom first!  We start from God's blueprint, then work top down to focus on how that's expressed through, and experienced in, your specific business.

We don't want or need to reinvent great business tools. However, we integrate them within a framework that prioritizes Kingdom, and fully applies them in a Kingdom context. The tools, practices, and processes serve the Kingdom. The Kingdom isn't just added on.

KBOS instills an intentionality, coupled with practical business processes, to drive iterative, incremental refinement that moves your needle ever more from little k business to big K Kingdom business.

The Kingdom Business Operating System

The AWAIH Framework for Business Leaders

The ultimate goal of the KBOS is to refine Operations through a regular, ongoing, intentionality of  assessing "is this the way things work in His Kingdom?" If not, why not, and how do we fix that?

Sometimes the gap between little k kingdom and capital K Kingdom business lies directly in Essence. We haven't downloaded the essence of Heaven into our Operations. Our practices and processes function in world's ways, not Kingdom ways, and thus, our customers, employees, stakeholders don't have an experience of the Kingdom in that aspect of our business.

Sometimes the gap is a bit more indirect. For your particular company, Heaven also has a:

Design | AWAIH Framework

DESIGN

Do we understand and have we captured that Identity, and are we operating
in Authenticity to it?

Call | AWAIH Framework

CALL

Has that driven our targeted territory
(the markets or communities we serve),
and are we operating in Clarity with that?

Path | AWAIH Framework

PATH

Is that reflected in our Strategy, and are we operating in Alignment with it?

We use existing, proven business tools to help quantify and express these elements of your business - but derive the answers from Heaven’s blueprint.
